We are pleased to offer a adults British Canoeing SUP Sheltered Water Award at Aztec Adventure Upton Warren.
The British Canoeing Stand Up Paddleboard Sheltered Water Award will give you an understanding of how to plan and paddle an enjoyable and safe trip on a Stand Up Paddleboard. You will be able to journey in water that is no more than 200 metres from the shore and up to force 3 winds.
In order to have an enjoyable day out on the water we need to make some key decisions to ensure we are in the right place at the right time. You will consider the weather, wind and water conditions. As these, along with any waterway restrictions, may affect where and when we paddle. In addition, you will consider the personal protective equipment available and choose the most suitable to keep you safe on the water.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
When paddling on a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) you need to be in control. This award will develop a range of skills and knowledge to get you safely through your journey. Balance and control of the board is important. You will learn the correct feet, body positioning and strokes required to keep you balanced. This can be whilst moving forwards or whilst steering the board. Your instructor will also ask you to consider how you could adapt your plans if needed should conditions on the water change. You will also need to know how to rescue yourself or another paddler using a SUP should they, or you, get into difficulty.
At the end of each trip, you and your instructor will consider where you need to go next. This will be tailored around you and dictated by your own personal goals. You will consider ways in which you can gain more information to use in your post-trip assessment, such as watching other paddlers or perhaps using video to analyse your technique.
Each day we spend SUP paddling we further expand our skills and knowledge. In SUP, steady, more gradual development is encouraged, which creates a more enjoyable experience on the water. With no two trips ever the same, we never stop learning. Continually evaluating the choices we make creates a natural evolution of decision making ability and skills.

- Within five days of the booking date, if Aztec Adventure Ltd are operational, you will not be entitled to move your booking, or receive any refunds for cancellations.

Thank you for running the sailing course this week. I was apprehensive about my son doing the course as he has autism but speaking to the staff before booking him on and during the two days everyone was understanding and accepting of him. Jack loves water sports but had never sailed before and he thoroughly enjoyed the course. When he went into a boat by himself and was a bit scared but got over it and enjoyed his time on the water. Many thanks once again for supporting Jack through his RYA Youth Level 1 Sailing Course.
All three of our boys have been on courses with Alex over the summer, two boys last week on the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme - Start Sailing Stage 3 and 4. They have really progressed and speak very highly of Alex. We have really got the bug for sailing and so are looking to join the Worcestershire Youth Sailing Association (WYSA).
Our daughter came last year for a couple of days, she loved it so much we booked before Christmas for the activity week. She has had a fantastic week, her standout of the summer holidays. She’s loved the variety of activities and the instructors all seem so friendly and helpful. Each day Amelia’s come home buzzing. We loved that despite the heat, kids were told to drink, keep applying sunscreen and encouraged to hose down. Amelia’s asked if she can do a sailing course and rebook a week for next year! As soon as dates are available we will book again.
We really enjoyed our stand up paddle boarding session. It was well organised, in terms of getting a wetsuit, life jacket etc. The changing rooms were clean. Nice that the lockers were free. Equipment was in good condition. Louis was friendly, helpful and clear in his instructions. It was good fun and went really quickly!
We had eight boys booked on to the Aztec Aquaglide Aqua Park. They had the best time. Your staff were excellent: polite, clear instructions for both kids and parents (they must get the same questions about wet suits and life jackets all the time). One member of staff was particularly conscientious as one of the boys felt a bit insecure when he first got in the water and the member of staff talked to him and reassured him. I’d definitely recommend the activity, the weather helped! Thanks, it was a top birthday venue for our boy and his mates.
I completed a RYA Level 2 Dinghy Sailing Course and very much enjoyed it. The trainer gave very helpful personal attention and I benefited greatly from his knowledge and experience.
A family group of 12 of us, aged from 4 years to older adults, visited Aztec Adventure Lower Moor. The weather was perfect, and we all had the best time. On Alex's advice, we hired a selection: pedallo, paddleboards and kayaks so that we could try different activities. We were given wetsuits and lifejackets, and Alex was always on hand, and was flexible in letting us swap the kayaks. Thanks again from all of us for a 5 star afternoon!
Fantastic facilities for all types of water sports. Perfect area for a novice like myself to practice paddle boarding. The two members of staff on duty on the day were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will return next season. A hidden gem.
My children age 5 and 10 years were booked in to do climbing at Evesham Leisure Centre. Both of them absolutely loved it. The instructor was brilliant and the instruction given was great especially for my daughter who had never climbed before. She climbed right to the top! Thank you, will definitely book again.
Only positive feedback, what a lovely morning, my son was terrified when we first arrived and didn't hold out much hope of him partaking in the events, his team leader was Lewis, an absolute asset to your team, I have never left my son with anyone and after coming away from Aztec Adventure, I would now have the confidence to leave him all day, after he made such lengths to include him and build his confidence. The safety of your site comes across as absolute paramount from the team leaders to the guards on the water. Beautiful place, we can't wait to come back.

The whole experience was brilliant, I would definitely recommend it, my family visit often, the staff all of them are very professional, for those who haven't been, get booking. We pop along sometimes and sit and have a coffee at the cafe, a little bit of heaven, it’s my little retreat or should also say treat in lovely setting in the sunshine and the rain.
